OPEN CALL: ARTIST RESIDENCY IN TIMIȘOARA

Niki Hannover in collaboration with the Art Encounters Foundation in Timișoara is launching the second edition of an international artistic residency exchange for artists based in Hannover. The residency will take place between July and September 2023 in Timișoara, with a maximum duration of 4 weeks, within the platform created by the Art Encounters Foundation.
The purpose of the residency program is to encourage the exploration of experimental practices, to support the production of new works, to facilitate the exchange of ideas and to establish a meaningful dialogue between communities and cultural actors from different fields and cultural spaces.
Art Entcounters and Niki will provide a studio space and accomodation in Timișoara, travel costs of up to 250€, honorary fee of 1200€, production costs of 1000€.
The artist will hold a public event during the stay. This can be an artist talk, an open studio or a similar format.

The selection criteria will take into account:
- The motivation of the candidate to dedicate himself / herself to an artistic project for the entire duration of the residency program
- The curiosity to get to know a dynamic artistic community, which is open to collaborations
- The quality of the portfolio and of the proposed project
A Jury from Art Encounters will decide on the winning candidate.
ART ENCOUNTERS FOUNDATION TIMIȘOARA
The vision of the Art Encounters Foundation is to become a meeting point for people, ideas, cultures, communities, and to create an open platform for contemporary art in connection with both the city of Timișoara and the global art scene. The public is encouraged to explore the field of art and to engage in a permanent knowledge exchange.
The foundation’s activities are carried out over the following main directions: organizing the Art Encounters biennial in Timișoara and the exhibition program taking place at its permanent space in Timișoara or other places; fostering education and audience development through public programs; developing a solid series of artistic and curatorial residencies.
